Volunteer.

Do you have a longing to partner with the purposes of God in 24/7 worship and prayer at Gateway? Do you love ministering to Lord and creating a space for others to encounter Him?

Become a Watch Leader.

Gateway House of Prayer is able to maintain 24/7 prayer and worship through volunteers like you! Our schedule is split up into 84 two-hour slots, called “watches.” Watch leaders carry the responsibility of sustaining prayer and worship throughout their watch, as well as praying over others as the Holy Spirit leads them. Further details on watch leading can be found below.

What is a watch?

At Gateway, we pray and worship night and day because Jesus is worthy of endless praise, on earth as in heaven (Revelation 4:8). We get the phrase “watchman”, or watch leader, from Isaiah 62:6-7,

“I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” (NIV)

We believe this is our call, to stand guard in intercession day and night and continuously lift up the name of Jesus. To catch more of our vision for 24/7 prayer and worship, check out our blog here.

When you come into the prayer room, you are invited to simply be with the Lord, to sit quietly in His presence, to make your desires known to Him, to intercede on behalf of others, and to worship Him! We also have prayer boards hanging on the walls around the prayer room with different focuses on them. These may be helpful for you to pray into.

Want to go deeper with God in community?

Our Embark School of Prayer runs once a year, starting at the beginning of February and concluding in April. Our school includes a required 10 hours per week in the prayer room, weekly lectures on a variety of topics, practicing several spiritual disciplines, and community discussion— all designed to push you into God’s presence and into a community of like-minded individuals seeking after the heart of God! “They brought the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and they presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before God…He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to extol, thank, and praise the Lord, the God of Israel…”
